COMMERCIAL 4X4 TRAINING FOR THE PROFESSIONAL 4X4 DRIVER
This course is mainly for person using a 4x4 or 6x6 vehicle at work. The course is valuable to fire fighters, sea- and mountain rescuers, game rangers, land surveyors, construction workers, farmers, researchers, etc.
Normally the accredited training route is followed, but we strongly recommend to put together a customized course which address specific requirements for the specific 4x4 work application. Example, fire fighters require to handle a 4x4 with a heavy water load at the back. The raised COG requires more than just 4x4 training.
The training package for the 4x4 or 6x6 should be specifically designed and a proper SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) should be compiled for the company who employed them.
We recommend at least the following modules to be included:
Accredited 4x4 against US254135
Accredited Advanced 4x4 against US254154
Defensive & Gravel Road Driving
GPS and MAP reading
all incorporated with the special needs.
Written SOP
We also recommends the training certificate to expires after 3 years and then renewed by a suitable customized refresher course.
At least some of the practical training should take place at workplace.
More time should be spent on commercial training per candidate as what is normally done for the recreational 4x4 candidate.
Taking into account all of above, we can quote on a price per candidate. The cheapest price per candidate should not be the criteria to select a training provider, but rather on compliance and specific requirements that are met.
What to bring with
(1). Your 4x4 / 6x6 vehicle with enough fuel.
(2). Protection against the weather. (hat, raincoat, sunglasses, gumboots, towel, sunscreen..)
(3). Preferable closed toe and heel shoes
(4). Own lunch and refreshments and 1.5liter drinking water.
(5). Vehicle's Owners Manual
(6). if available : air compressor and tyre pressure gauge
(7). Available recovery equipment.
(8). Certified copy of ID and driver's licence.
